Shortest Tallest Building

BTW, Kirabati seems to be in this same category as well, although it’s a much larger place than Tuvalu or Nauru.

Since this thread has been reopened, the link above shows Vermont to have the shortest tallest building, at 124 ft. Was the list different in 2007? Did Vermont demolish a taller building?

The list is most definitely different from back in 2007. Back then Montpelier City Hall, at 150ft, was listed as the tallest building, which as far as I can tell, is still standing. Then in about June of 2009, somebody edited the article again to change the tallest building to be the Bennington Battle Monument, at 306ft. The article was further edited in may 2010, when somebody decided that a monument did not qualify as a “continuous occupiable space”, and changed the tallest building to its current listing. Don’t know if the person who changed it was aware of the previous listing, or disputed the height, or disputed that the Montpelier City Hall “qualified” for the list. Interesting exercise in the reliability of Wikipedia- not only do you know if people are getting the facts right, you don’t know if they are using a consistent set of standards for establishing those facts. Although the text of the article itself indicates the methodology for calculating height and inclusion (and it did since at least 2009), it took someone over a year to catch the inclusion of a monument.
