As of today, I’ve started to have some shortness of breath and it’s a little bit laborious to breathe, but I have no other Covid symptoms. No fever, no coughing, none of that. Has anyone gotten infected but only had a bit of shortness of breath and nothing else?
Short answer? Yes.
Keep monitoring yourself and consult a care provider if the shortness of breath symptom becomes more pronounced. Until you know more, proactively quarantine yourself at home. If you live with others, wear a mask when outside of your room for trips to the bathroom, etc. have them bring your meals to you rather than eating with them. Encourage them to open windows to augment ventilation in their spaces. The CDC website has more details.

If you live alone, I’d suggest texting or calling a friend and letting them know and ask them to touch base with you in the morning and make sure you are doing ok. Hopefully it will turn out to be nothing or allergies but Covid can move fast and this way they can get help to you if you aren’t able to summon it yourself.
Shortness of breath can have myriad causes, none of them related to COVID.
Mine came from constricted arteries so that my heart wasn’t pumping enough oxygen. The result was triple bypass surgery.
That’s not to suggest that you have a heart problem, but that it’s virtually impossible to diagnose yourself from such an often-seen symptom. If it continues to get more severe, definitely see a doctor.
Could be pollen, or lots of other causes. If it persists, medical folks can help you rule things in or out.
Anxiety can also be a culprit. Do you have a pulse oximeter? They’re available for around $20 and serve the dual purposes of getting you taken seriously if you really are in a bad way, and reassuring you if you aren’t.
I would suggest getting an oximeter without procrastination. I’m not a doctor but shortness of breath could be a symptom of a pulmonary embolism. You might be able to stop by a firehouse and get someone to test you without any charge.
I’ve heard of many cases where people went into the doctor or hospital for unrelated issues and their oxygen count was low… they had covid and it didn’t always go well.
Blood clots are associated with covid.
Listen to your body. I lost my best friend because he ignored a heart attack.
Go get tested!
You will likely have no difficulty getting access because of your symptom. There are people who go from, ‘slight shortness of breath’ to much worse, quite rapidly.
