Should Biden select a different VP in the next Election?

“Nowadays”?

Surely this country has improved dramatically after the important accomplishments of Mike Pence!

When I actually look her up, I see plenty of positive activity in multiple spheres. I also see thwt more white voters disapprove of her than of Biden. Hmmm.

ETA an example of her being in the public eye promoting the administration’s actions:

https://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/documents/icymi-she-has-been-everywhere

During her nonstop Summer of Action, the Vice President traveled to 17 states to hold large-scale events with key constituencies, tout the accomplishments of the Biden-Harris Administration, and continue leading the fight for fundamental freedoms

I do not understand that last line. You think the Administration should be touting hamas?

I’m 99% sure you had a typing accident there. It’s still a little funny to me for some dark reason.

Kids these days and the way they don’t the value of buckets of warm, or cold, spit piss.

Biden is taking a hit for his handling of the situation in Gaza. Especially stopping the cease fire resolution. Harris is taking on the role of opposing the Netanyahu government. If unsuccessful she becomes the lightning rod protecting the President. If successful she may become the Democratic candidate.

Biden would take a hit (and praise) no matter what he does. And the only way Harris is the candidate is if Biden dies or has a serious medical incident and steps down.

We will see how it unfolds. He is going to take a major hit over Gaza. deserved or not. It comes with the job. If his poll numbers drop low enough the party has an easy way out with health issues.

Or she won’t cast the right vote if there is a tie in the Senate.

I haven’t forgotten Harris’ strong liberal platform running in the primaries. She disagreed strongly with Biden on many issues. They tidied it up at the convention and Harris hasn’t publicly disagreed with Biden since.

What happens if Harris takes over after Biden’s health falters? Will she honor the original party platform they used to get elected?

That’s an important point for me. I expect politicians to at least try and follow the platform that I considered in my decision to vote. Sometimes it doesn’t work out and it pisses me off.

Harris may have some good ideas that would be in line with her possible predecessor. I hope so because she’s one heartbeat from being President.

If Harris runs on her own (2nd term) and wins then certainly her partys platform can be shaped in her vision.

As if your sole alternative = trump would respect anything he said to get your vote?

Within the limitations of this category I must be circumspect in my words.

But asserting that absolutely anything Biden or Harris could possibly do pre- or post-vote would make trump a superior vote IMO is either willful ignorance or raging insanity.

I sincerely hope you suffer from neither of those life-altering afflictions.

You sound terribly concerned! Go ahead and cough it up, let’s hear it plainly. What’s your worry?

Her relative genuiness will shine compared to whatever smarmy prick is willing to be trump’s vp.

The opposing candidate’s party platform is “Whatever Dear Leader says is what we believe”.

To what degree are you concerned that the Democrats’ platform might be inferior?

He was the first VPOTUS who’s POTUS attempted to incite his murder. That’s an important accomplishment.

I’ll assume you meant to type Harris, unless you are meaning to imply that Harris is a Hamas sympathizer?

Yes.

A VP’s role (beyond those stated constitutionally, and prominence, is whatever the President says they are.

Fair or not the public is concerned about the possibility that a President in their 80s could go downhill fast, and see every Biden typical fumble as evidence of that impending. Harris should have been pushed to near co-Presidency levels from early on so that the public could feel comfortable that if that decline occurred then a stable hand would be on the till.

I visit relatives in nursing homes almost every week. So many stroke and Parkinson patients just sitting and sleeping in the dayroom. The Parkinson patients get delusional nightmares and scream. It doesn’t shock me anymore. They’re not all like that. Some play bingo and cards.

I know I’ll be that age too someday. It’s hard wrapping my head around a 80+ year old President. But there’s no acceptable alternative. .

I’d LMAO if Harris spends another **5 years in the 2nd chair. Go Biden!

**including 2024

But that doesn’t tell us what your worry about Kamala Harris is. You started this thread suggesting that Harris should be replaced; and recently you said

So I think many of us are wondering what, specifically, you have against Harris, or what part of her “platform” you’re scared of.

Additionally that swarmy prick has much more chance of being POTUS if Trump were to win, than Harris would have if Biden won another term.

Trump may be slightly younger but he’s in far worse shape physically and mentally. Though difference between a president Trump who is incapacitated by illness or dementia and one thats is not a lot less, of course.
