Meh. I left here once and can walk away again. No big whoop either way.
I certainly don’t want to deny others their fun, but this has always been just a diversion for me, and that’s what it will remain.

I’m in. Nice to have a lifeboat.
I’m in.
I’m shown as a ‘junior member’.
I have a warning level of 0%.
Me too.
You can search for “world” on that site without getting an error condition.
Yup, you get to be the King!
Er. . . too late.
Me too.
I’m in the raft. Don’t push me out to the sharks please…
ETA: dumb thought process: "I don’t need to bookmark the page, if I need to find I go through this thread. Uhhhh, if I need to go to the new board it because… :smack:
Yep, # 62.
Hope we don’t need it though.
Um, where did it go? I’m getting a squat page when I try to load it now.
You clicking on the link in post #19?
You know, it would really behoove TPTB to be a little more open about all of this, as there’s not really much point in trying to entice new members to a board that may not be here in a couple of months.
Well, I registered at Teemings just in case. Thanks elmwood.
I don’t think I’ve come across a single business that has announced that they’re about to go bust, and that they’d be very grateful if no-one bought anything from them, and they would like new customers to go away. It *might * be more honourable, but let’s face it - they’re still trading and they *may *not go under, and they need every transaction they can get.
Yes, but they don’t have to say that they’re going under, but just give us some idea of what they’re doing, and perhaps what they’ll do in the event of a “worst case scenario.”
This. And it’s not as if information is being withheld: Creative Loafing files for bankruptcy
Right now the public record speaks for itself. They’ve (there are multiple CL entities) filed a Chapter 11, which is for reorganization. They’re working on a reorganization plan. It’s not due yet. The major creditor’s lawyer says:
I’m not sure which came first: Ed Zotti saying that CL had problems, or some Doper reporting the Chapter 11 news, but, whichever the cat is out of the bag. We also tend to get irate if Ed isn’t open, so we should be grateful that he has told us. Beyond that, management rarely tell their customers the in and outs of the negociations, and I wouldn’t expect Ed to.
All I would hope for, is that should the worst actually happen, that we could possibly get involved in rescuing, if not the board, at least the posts so they could be moved to Teemings.
That’s so weird, now I can get back in. But I swear when I posted that I got one of those pages that you get when a site isn’t registered and it gives you links to all sorts of random things like t-shirts and Hawaiian vacations.
I registered too, but I really hope the dope continues.
Thanks for the parachute elmwood.
I’m still getting it. I even tried one of the internal pages out of my history.
