Should I change to Facebook Timeline?

Was offered tonight when I logged on, declined becaue I’m unsure I like it. What are your experiences with it?

Should I change to Facebook Timeline? No.

It’s an annoying piece-of-shit. It looks pretty, which is why I did the little trick a few months ago to let me get it a little early. I’ve regretted it ever since. The biggest issue is that if you were to go to my wall you wouldn’t see everything. The Timeline only shows what it considers the most important updates from the past.

I don’t know. I did the same trick as Melon and then totally forgot about it. Apparently profile pages and timelines aren’t an important part of my facebook experience. I guess, if you’re like me and you don’t do a lot of stalking, it doesn’t make a difference.

Don’t you* have* to, eventually? I read that everybody would have to on Feb. 3, so I did it at the end of January. I wish I’d waited, but you can’t go back.

Yes, if you want your Facebook profile to look like a personal Geocities homepage c.1999.

I hate it. I’m holding out as long as possible.

FYI, if you install the Social Fixer app for your browser (just Google it) it lets you force the Timeline into single-column view, remove the cover photo, and do a few other changes that make it a lot less obnoxious.

Me too. I have friends who’ve gone over to the dark side and I think their pages look messy and add nothing at all to the FB experience.

Moving to IMHO.
As a poster, I like it. I think it’s worth it for the cover photo alone.

Hated it! As with most FB novations… As grammy used to say, “leave it be”

I love the big cover photo, which I change all the time because I’m under the impression that I’m a good photographer. However, it doesn’t make a big bunch of difference to me; I look at the news feed most of the time.

I’d consider it because I would have a chance to have the Teddy-Roosevelt-riding-a-moose picture as my cover photo. It is hard to read, though, so I’m holding off for now.

The best thing about the classic facebook home page is its simplicity. The timeline adds too many elements, too much customization, it’s too busy. They’re going down the road that led MySpace to ruin.

I never changed. So far nobody has threatened me.

I haven’t changed either. The new look is too busy for me. I’ll hold out as long as possible.

I changed. Got used to it in about a day. NBD.

I recommend this as well. Social fixer is really great in general. If it didn’t exist I probably would be fine using facebook au naturel, but since it DOES exist and I’m used to it, I find facebook incredibly obnoxious whenever I log in without it.

You’re going to be forced to change over shortly, so you might as well do it now.

I don’t like the look or function of Timeline at all, but I’ve found it easier than I thought to keep mine looking better than most I see. It does require some time organizing/deleting of course, which I don’t mind but many will.

Meh.

How much do you really look at your own profile?

If you do this, is this the way everyone else will view it as well or just for you?
