Should I say something about this nurse?

Bullshit.

Having your hand placed on a man’s chest is not the same as having your hand placed on a woman’s breast.

Me too, its how some percentage of nurses do a blood pressure check. It just happens to be that there is boob there.

Bwahahahahaha!

I non-sexually love you.

Unless your friend’s son was an extra in a Van Halen video, bullshit.

In a medical situation, it should be. In a lot of cases, it should be.

Guess I was wrong about that last bit. Rather spectacularly wrong.

Thanks, WhyNot. You said it better than I ever could.

Very well said, WhyNot.

Pardon him, WhyNot; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe are the laws of nature.

If it was a good looking male nurse it might encourage me to go to my doctor, I hate going for checkups.

WhyNot, you rock

I’ve reported this post… for a post of the year nomination.

In a non-emergency situation like getting your blood pressure checked?

It isn’t.

Shodan

Perfectly said. This thread is embarrassing to men who don’t have the mentalities of sniggering 14 year old boys.

Yes it is. The fact that you are inappropriately sexualizing the situation is your problem, not the nurse’s. All the bullshit here is in your head.

Sometimes body parts just get in the way. I don’t tuck patient’s arms under mine to take their BP, but I have had other issues. One young man for whom I was doing a weekly dressing change on his chest is a case in point. I had to get close to the point where I am almost in his lap. He says “I don’t know where to put my hand except on your knee.” I just laughed and said that would be fine, I wasn’t too worried about him.

You TROLLOP! You Jezebel!

Why, if the right and honorable urbanredneck had been there, you would have received the thrashing that you so roundly deserved!

No it’s not. There is no medical necessity to put the patient’s hand on the nurse’s breast, since it is perfectly possible to take a blood pressure in some way that does not make the patient uncomfortable.

Shodan

I don’t disagree with your post and I’m not siding with UR, but if you knew it was wrong why not just start a pit thread and link to it here. Just being passionate is no excuse for abandoning board mores and there exists a perfectly good and board legal way to accomplish the same thing.

Good question. Check your PMs for an answer; it’s off topic here.
