Well? Should she?
Of course. When she is fighting bad guys they will be distracted by her good looks and overwhelming sexuality and not fight back effectively. Kind of like why Batman has (had) a big yellow oval on his chest which will draw gunfire to the most protected part of his body. It’s a psychological trick.
Or, the comics creators are appealing to comics readers who are predominantly male and there is no practical reason for her to be wearing fishnets. Well, it’s practical for sales, but you get the idea.
Yes, she should. However, any costume that has a diamond cut out to expose the bellybutton should be fixed; they just look silly.
Well, it would be kinda weird to see her without them.
But, I think they’re kinda silly looking.
I think I could adjust to her not having them.
So, well, I guess my opinion is ‘no’.
Well, Batman hasn’t had a yellow oval on his chest in ages. As for Black Canary, as long as it looks good. Actually, in response to the idea that it distracts the mostly male villians, I believe both Black Canary and The Huntress have recently shown - in violent fashion (no pun intended) - that they greatly despise being ogled.
Anyhoo…
No. They look ridicuous. Not as ridiculous as Zatanna’s fishnets, clawhammer tux coat and top hat, but pretty damn ridiculous.
No.
She should be nude.
No. Canarys have skinny little birdy legs that would look terrible in stockings. And the claws would leave terrible runs.
What?
At least Zatanna’s got an excuse for her getup.
And Zatanna’s excuse is what?
She’s a magician, wearing a cross between a typical stage Magician’s costume and a typical Magician’s assistant. (Actually, a fairly typical example of the female variant on the Magician’s costume, now I give it a little more thought.) It’s a themey thing.
It’s like the big ol ears and scalopped cape Bats wears.
But when was the last time you saw a canary with fishnets?
Wouldn’t fishnets get snagged on things?
Shouldn’t Batman’s cape have caught on something and broken his neck while he was swinging around town on a bat-rope? Some questions just aren’t meant to be asked :D.
Yes.
Just leave it at that.
When she tried that new costume in the 80s it just wasn’t her.
Keep the stockings and put her in a black sling thong for the rest of her costume.
I’d say yes on the fishnets. Oh, YES!
But, as an alternative, I prpose that she wear Hawkman’s uniform.
Good thinking, Bosda. Or Martian Manhunter’s.
Seriously. She went without them in the mid-90’s when she started wearing that ultra-generic blue and light blue jumpsuit around the time Bird of Prey started (that DC Direct just made a figure of). I had absolutely no idea who she was supposed to be the first few times I saw her, because the costume had absolutely no identifiable characteristics whatsoever. Her costume now isn’t much better, so she needs the fishnets to keep from being totally genetic blonde action woman.
“Genetic blonde”? You do know that she dyes her hair, right?
