Hi everyone,
I wanted to share this question with people who have an interested for documentaries and/or visual effects and motion graphics.
There are many science documentaries that use visual effects and CGI in scenes that would be impossible or would take too long/cost too much to shoot. For example, nature time lapses are very often recreated growing plants in studios.
Also, documentaries on social matters are very often based on motion graphics, especially when explaining how a system works or making historical references. There are many short/medium length documentaries that are entirely created with motion graphics.
In your opinion, are visual effects and motion graphics a legitimate approach to telling reality or not? Why?
Why not?
I love documentaries about science, particularly space and quantum physics. How would they film those things for real?
Especially the quantum physics one. I mean, you can get your actor to hit his mark but you never know if he’ll be moving stage left or right.
I have no objection that what you describe. I have to say this does sound kind of like a homework question, though. Are you looking for help on an assignment?
Pictures are worth a 1000 words. If you show an exploded view of just about anything it explains the inner workings far better than descriptions.
So yes, it’s a legitimate approach to explaining reality, theories, hypothesis’, or how to carve a radish into a flower.
