I want to show a politically-charged clip from You Tube. Yes, I am a man of a certain political persuasion. And this clip does fit my views. But I do really want ALL people’s opinions on this topic too. Anyways, it may be a while before I show it. But I have two questions:
(1) Can I show what I just described on these boards (as I’ve said, it likely will inspire alot of political debate)? And…
(2) Which part of these boards do I post it?
As you may have guessed, this is probably a questions for the Mods. But other people should feel free to share their input too:).
Well, actually it is the very partisan nature of the clip that bothers me. I have seen Mods scold people for injecting too much of their personal views into their threads (I have no link to give for an example of this now). This has never happened to me. But I don’t want this to be the first time:).
Oh god no, let’s not start having political debates here! Just post links to pictures of kittens!
And thank god we can’t directly post pictures of kittens, I need the buffer of having to load a separate page in case the kitten picture is too much - I can mentally prepare myself for a few seconds.
Yeah, if you’re worried whether a particular video is too bad to post here, I think it’d be a good idea to let the mods see what video it is. Shoot one a PM or something.
But I can’t imagine them considering it a problem, unless there’s something illegal about it.

I think Dopers can handle partisanship.
I’m not sure what you’re referring to here, but there’s no rule against this. If you weren’t allowed to post your personal views I’m not sure what you could post. We sometimes discourage off-topic posts, or react when an individual poster brings up the same topic over and over in many threads where it isn’t relevant. But I don’t think either of those guidelines apply here.
