Beat me to it!
I guess I’ll be the naysayer: I’ve seen the vast majority of these shows several times but other than the MAS*H finale I don’t recall seeing any of these. Maybe I have but I don’t remember them which is what counts. Of course I’ve heard of the Lucy chocolate factory scene and “I thought turkeys could fly” and have even seen clips of them but I am not sure if I’ve seen the actual episodes.
For the majority of them though, I don’t even remember hearing about the episodes. I guess they were pretty forgettable.
The one with the Seniors has to be a close second. I was laughing out loud the whole time Constanza was telling the old guy there really is no reason to go on living!
Fawlty Towers: Either “The Germans” or “Basil the Rat.”
The Simpsons: Either “Bart the Daredevil” or the one where Homer has only 24 hours to live.
McMillan and Wife - the one where someone tries to murder them by putting a fumigation bag over the house.
“Gosh, Dad! You mean it **eats **people?!?”
“Not ‘eats,’ Jonny. *Consumes *them. For their energy.”
The other ***JQ ***episode I immediately think of is the one with The Baron and the dogfight over the Andes.
Jumps the Shark.
“There’s the guy that took the bread out of Jimmy’s mouth!”
There are so many memorable, quotable scenes from that show, I bet the list of memorable episodes varies by whom you keep company with. Last week, my wife came home from Trader Joe’s with a loaf of fancy, lumpy bread, and we both laughed when she told me she had to fight some old bag for it.
This. Master of my domain, indeed.
The Brady Bunch - the Davy Jones episode (followed closely by the cursed Tiki)
Dallas - Either “Who Shot J.R.” or the one where Bobby emerges from the shower, revealing that the whole season was a dream.
Diff’rent Strokes - The Nancy Reagan “Just Say No” episode
Ren & Stimpy - “Happy Happy Joy Joy!”
Seinfeld: The Soup Nazi; Elayne dancing; the puffy shirt; sponge-worthy.
Dick Van Dyke: Babies switched in hospital? Black couple shows up.
Mary Tyler Moore: “I hate spunk.”
All in the Family: Sammy Davis, Jr.
Is this thread a Ninja record? Hot Damn…
I haven’t seen very many of these episodes at all, but I agree with them simply based on the fact that I’ve HEARD of them.
MASH, Seinfeld, WKRP in Cincinnatti all fall under this category
Nah. Mirror Mirror, the origin of the trope that evil twins have goatees. (Even though Mirror Universe Spock wasn’t evil.)
I was going to mention “Have you seen the Sunrise”. But the Frasier ep for me is “The Ski Lodge”.
The Ed Sullivan Show: introducing The Beatles!
The Twilight Zone: “It’s a Cookbook!”
The Honeymooners: “polo ponies”
The Honeymooners: “Name That Tune!”
Amos ‘n’ Andy: “Kingfish Adopts Andy”
McHale’s Navy: “Tiger of the Pacific”
Hogan’s Heroes: “Der Krieg Ist zu Ende!”
The Greatest American Hero : “Operation Spoilsport” (“Dontcha Know We’re on the Eve of Destruction”)
For me it’s the one where Niles has the flour baby.
Brady Bunch: “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!”
Dragnet: The one with the kid on LSD (“My hair is green, and I’m a tree!”)
I think of the one with the spider drone.
After, of course, the invisible energy monster, which is the greatest JQ episode ever.
The episode of Saved by the Bell where Jesse is taking caffeine pills. Who among us could possibly forget, “I’m so excited! I’m so excited! I’m so…scared!”
