Shows you never thought would make you cry...

For me I’d say Futurama and the “Jurassic Bark” episode. Who would have thought that Futurama could make me cry? And yet there it did.

What show made you cry that you never thought could, and which episode was it that did it?

I was going to say Futurama and “Luck of the Fryrish”. Not Jurassic Bark because I don’t have the emotional attachment to dogs that most people do.

Well, I came to say Futurama, “Jurassic Bark.” Shit, now I have to actually come up with another one…

Joe

Yeah, I’ll agree with that Futurama episode.

Another one for me was West Wing, which you wouldn’t really think of as a big tearjerking TV show, but I cried like a baby when Mrs. Landingham died.

Almost every episode of Cold Case (not to be confused with Cold Case FILES) made me cry. Beginning with a tragic death of some kind and then the resolution with the ghost of the wronged victim being vindicated while his/her loved ones go on… holy crap. I would just sit there and sob.

I’ve been taping them, but now I’m getting mostly reruns and as good as they were, I can’t bear to watch them a second time.

Terriers makes me cry on almost a weekly basis.

Mork and Mindy. There is an episode “Reflections and Regrets” where Mork channels Mindy’s dead mother. Pam Dawber saying “Momma?” still raised goosebumps on my arms, even though I have not seen that show since it originally aired.

Babylon 5

Not the kind of show to draw tears, but it did a few times in its final episode, especially when the credits hit and it shows everyone from when they were new and how they ended up.

…Marcus lives!!!

“Luck of the Fryrish” wins for me as well.

My pick: the “Hey Arnold” Veterans Day episode. I just watched it again and found myself tearing up once more…

I was long past childhood when it aired, but Sesame Street. I saw online somewhere the skit where Big Bird hadn’t yet come to terms what Mr. Hooper dying meant, and expected him to be at a get-together where he was showing off the drawings he’d done of all of the locals. :frowning: The adults had to explain to him the finality of death.

Absolutely!:frowning:

Isn’t that the truth. Donal Logue is freakin’ brilliant on that show, so perfect and understated.

I’ll cry at almost anything and remember crying at The Bear in the Big Blue House once…

But I came in to say the often hated episode of the Simpsons where Lisa makes some friends on holiday.

The very last Blackadder, of course. Damn, damn, damn.

Buffy’s The Body

Sesame Street, with the aforementioned Farewell, Mr Hooper episode. I too saw it online and it was just… argh. I can’t even.

The ending of the final epsiode of “Black Adder Goes Forth”–but then I’ve always had a soft spot about young men dying in WWI.

“Mom? Mom? … Mommy?”

The one where Katie said goodbye to the dog. Ooof!

And the fact that it’s probably going to get canceled.

Poor doggie.

Little guy spent his whole life waiting for Fry to come back, and he could have woken up to spend a whole 'nother doggie-life with Fry in the future - if only Fry had the sense to let that happen. I don’t even like dogs, and thought this was was as heck. Something’s in my eye …
