Shuckin' oysters

I just shucked 'n ate a dozen Connecticut bluepoint oysters. They were really really good. I’m washing them down with a couple beers and watched the sox lose in Tampa (you can’t win 'em all). They’re running a great race and four wide with 50 laps to go at Talledega.

For those of you who have never shucked an oyster, it is a pain in the ass but without a doubt a distinct pleasure. And of course drinking a couple brews and watching the game/race ain’t bad, either.

Shucking oysters is a motherfuck. I’ve got a oyster shucking tool and i’ll be damned if I can figure out how to do it. They are however, delicious. We get locally farmed oysters for $13 a dozen at the farmer’s market.
