Shut up USA

Nah. The British gave us Monty Python, which is full of wit and good humor. Lobley has neither of these qualities. As such, I would assume that he only represents stupidity.

Typical prawn sandwich muncher behaviour

…and from Bedfordshire. Isn’t that near Luton Airport ?

RexDart,

There are no commercials on BBC1 and BBC2 - they are funded by a compulsory license fee.

Also when your Superbowl is on one of our commercial channels, we have to employ special guest commentators to fill the extra advertising slots coming from the US!

It also means that the hour-length episodes of 24 are 45 minutes long

Dinsdale?

Yup, even more noticeable when you look at the DVD set of the series. The runtime is around 20 hours!

I was talking about soccer. Read the OP please if you are going to reply to it.

You would never hear the end if England won because England deserve to win!

The sheer number of Hurt replies to this post indicate that you do give a shit about what a whiney Englishman says.

The fact that my reply was directed at the inappropriately arrogant behaviour of a few people who I called Americans because they happened to be Americans regarding their progress through the world cup just shows how fucked up most of those replies were! Youd think I said “I hate everything about America”

For god’s sake people! get over yourselves.

lobley, I’ll admit I give a shit what you say. It takes the form of “What’s that git going on about now?” whenever I see your name on a thread, but a shit is a shit, no?

Why do we deserve to win exactly?

because we’ve been trying forever.

And we are England. Isn’t that enough?

And because we never fucking win anything ever, we have to win something!

The thing that annoyed me about America annoys me about Manchester United -

They win everything all the time, they have everything, yet they still get excited when they are going to win yet another thing.

IMO only people/fans who do not get much really deserve to get excited when they might win something.

That is why the whole thing annoys me, not because I hate America (and I don’t I like more things about it than dislike)

Remind me; what did Man U win this past season ?

lobley - You do understand you’re becoming an embarrassment ?

Despite your question you know exactly what I mean.
ANd I know I am embarrasing myself, It’s just that I am having great trouble (and am failing) expressing what is in fact a valid opinion.

So was the link. Read the link please if you are going to reply to it.
:wally

Did you read the link? sounds football-related to me.

Ah, I see…lobley is unhappy because Americans like to win, and do so with some frequency. Oh, what an insult to poor lobley. I think we should be sending sympathy cards now, yes…?

“Terribly Sorry For Having A Good Time, Being Happy, And All That.
Hope It Wasn’t Too Much An Inconvenience.”

:wally

mayberrydan, I think you’ve vastly misjudged the character of America IRT other people winning at sports we happen to play well… “Bitter” is way too strong a choice. Most Americans would respond with a ‘So What?’ to your scenario. ‘Mildly Disappointed’ might be closer to what you’re looking for.
Excepting the occasional looney, of course.
