Sick "art" from a sick bitch (warning- animal cruelty)

www.wetterlinggallery.com

Warning- this is “artwork” made out of dead animals.
This is sick crap! What a damn bitch! And check out the bullshit statement from the gallery director, defending it all.

Eh. I’ve seen worse. I’d even call it art.

Sorry. Don’t see it.

This is different from taxidermy how? It’s not like these are made from living animals that are being tortured for our amusement. If she had still-breathing animals hooked up to these things with elaborate life-support machinery, I could see outrage. Some of them are actually kind of interesting (love the chicken feet in high heels!).

I like it. Does this make me a bad person?

On second thought, I don’t care. I like it.

Oh, and I like the mouse finger puppets, too. Anyone else look at that picture and think, “Whoa! We can play Redwall!”?

I’m tempted to splurge on a plane ticket to Sweden so I can bitch-slap this Natalia whore personally

I’m a vegetarian, and I don’t understand. The animals were killed humanely. If we allow people to kill animals, then what difference does it make what we do with their bodies?

The point is, I think, that the animals were killed for the art, not used after death. Which disgusts me. Use dead animals in your strange compositions, please. Don’t kill fresh ones for them.

While I do not think this would qualify as art in my book, there are others would would call it that, and that IS their right.

Wow. That’s some cool shit. How about that chicken sleeve? Wonder what it’s lined with.

You hit the nail on the head, Gadfly. I guess I didn’t make my point clear enough in my OP- it’s the total WANTON nature of killing animals just to make this crappy “art” which makes me so mad.

I have a feeling those bunnies wouldn’t be near as pretty if they were roadkilled. What’s the difference if they’re killed for coats, food, or art? As long as the means of death is quick and as humane as possible, there is no difference. News flash: They sell mice, rabbits, and rats for the express purpose of feeding reptile pets. Which is more humane, being killed quickly for the purpose of art, or being slowly suffocated by a 10-foot python and eaten?

Why not ask some bloody pet shelters about pets that they’re putting down? If they’re not suitable enough, why not get a taxidermist?

As for the folks noting that it’s the same as killing animals to eat or wear them - that’s why I’m a vegetarian.

Apparently Ms. Edenmont isn’t.

Just a note - the art is beautiful and disturbing all at once - great stuff, I just wish that the artist would’ve gone about making them in different ways.

That’s fucking creepy.

It’s definitely cool shit-it’s also hilariously funny and absurd. It has a surreal sense of humor you rarely see in this sort of thing.

The mouse emerging from the eggshell looking tired and sleepy is very cute. The rabbit heads look like some bizarre imagery from Alice in Wonderland come to life. And the chicken legs in high heels is certainly classic-it’s a fashion statement.

Rock on, sick bitch…

I’d say that represent everything that is good about art. It is beautiful, intelligent and it is a thought-provoking comment on society.

All in all, awesome work Nathalia.
Ps. I am using “Charles” as wallpaper now

Alberta has plenty of people coming here trophy hunting. They kill stuff to mount heads on walls pretty much like this lady did. Can’t say I’m for either practice myself.
