Yeah, that had me confused until I read enough of this thread. Marley23 not only revised, then totally reversed his ruling (as I agree it should have been in the first place) – He also used his super-duper moderator powers to re-write history.
It would have been clearer to all if he had expressed his evolving sentiments in one (or several) additional posts, rather than just re-writing the original warning post.

It should be fun for the opponents to look at the proponents’ posts and systematically report infractions to these new, well-intentioned but overly broad rules.

IANAMod, but yes, and yes, respectively. colander made a sexual remark about another Doper. Originally Marley23 warned FinnAgain for making it personal, changed that to warning both, and changed it to only warning colander.
Kudoes to Marley23* for his flexibility, IMO.
