Sigh. Wrecked car. Help me replace it!

Not that particular model but lots of other Chrysler models that get similarly shit on by CR and they’ve all been great, and know lots of people who own them. Chryslers in general and the TC/GC in particular are hugely more popular in Canada relatively speaking than they are in the US (they are built here) so there are lots of them around. I certainly would be wary of buying first year models but these are relatively mature at this point and don’t have any glaring reliability issues.

The one sold in the rest of the world is a completely different car. The North American market Oddyssey is over a foot taller and a much larger vehicle in general.

Not necessarily. The road I take home every day has traffic lights, and a speed limit of 50. It’s a divided highway sort of thing, 2 lanes each way, with stoplights every half mile or so. Sure, it’s out in the 'burbs and not right downtown, but it’s not an anomaly either - there’s lots of similar roads around here.

Here, too. My daily commute is on a similar road, though the stoplights are a little more spaced out (every mile or so). The speed limit is 45 in some parts, 55 in others.

Just to post back with an update, I bought an off-lease 2012 Chrysler Town & Country with the Touring-L trim package last Saturday. It’s loaded, with heated seats and remote start, which is awesome with the temperature being in the low teens all week!

Also, yes, 45 MPH is the posted limit on that stretch of road that we had our accident on.
