UTM stands for Universal Transverse Mercator. I’m an engineer, so I got some local surveying coordinates and worked 'em down. Those numbers are coordinates to more or less within 1/4 mile of my house. A little cooler than Lat/Long I think.

Nope, but this li’l page should explain things in detail.
Basically, you find the zone (14), read your Easting from the ‘baseline’ of that zone. If the Easting has a 5 as the first digit in an odd-numbered string (as opposed to even), then just start counting from the central meridian. Northing is straight up from the Equator, minus a 10,000,000 ‘arbitrary’ value setting.
Yeah, confusing as all hell, but it makes my math soooooo much easier at times. And no, I don’t know of any commercial software that’ll give you a map.
