This thread - is it my imagination?
Don’t know what happened but I’ll try again.
I saw Signs a few days ago and I’m certain that the Stars and Stripes shoulder patch on Officer Caroline Paski’s uniform has only 12 stripes. Am I correct and if so why manufacture patches with 12 stripes instead of 13?
You counted the stripes???
Wow. That was observant of you.
I only counted the stripes once, just because it looked wrong at first glance, just like when you look at a word and know it’s misspelled without knowing why.
OK, so the first half moves kinda slow, but I can say I honestly wasn’t that bored…
Were the top and bottom stripes different colors? They would have to be if there were an even number of them. If they were the same color (should be red), then I would hesitantly suggest, with all due respect, that you miscounted.
I saw Signs yesterday and specifically looked out for this. The top and bottom stripes were indeed red and I think I counted thirteen stripes as well.
But what about this:
In the TV ad for Signs–I haven’t yet seen the movie; too busy yawning–the second* aerial shot of crop circles is unquestionable upside down. I can’t begin to imagine a reason for doing this intentionally, but if I spotted it, surely someone along the long complicated process that resulted in a TV ad should have spotted it too? Maybe just a prankish attempt to see who’s looking? Doesn’t make sense.
- I think it was the second; I’m ready to revise that to say it was the third or fourth; anyway one of the shots.
Signs wasn’t boring, it was definitely worthy of laughs and groans (which it received in abundance in the theatre I watched it in)…
