I work for BabyGap in Oklahoma City - this poster is in the regular Gap window across the hall from us, too. Most Gap window displays are mandated by corporate (I helped do the Baby windows recently, after hours, and we followed a diagram). I personally think it’s a stunning photo, and fits with the rest of the current display windows and styles of photos around the store. People have been stopping by to smile at it or take photos of it… but unfortunately people have also complained to us about the “terrorist” photo and said they plan to boycott the stores until “Osama bin Laden” is off the windows. Ugh, I hate living in Oklahoma sometimes.
His eyes and cheekbones are definitely good, but I’m not crazy about his nose. I want to see his mouth and hairline. If he has thin lips and a fivehead, he’s out. But yeah, he’s probably very handsome.
I’m sure the the same thing would have happened here but The Gap in the local mall closed about a year ago. I really shudder to think what the reaction would be if that poster had been displayed here (this town is a lot smaller than Oklahoma City.)
My first thought when I saw that was “That looks like the guy from Inside Man.” That made me feel a little racist until I realized, it’s the same guy. It seems like he’s the go-to “Sikh Guy” in Hollywood.
My first thought was “I wonder if they are remaking The English Patient?”
Thank you for that link, enalzi. My very first thought was, “Is that the guy on the train from Darjeeling Limited?” since those striking eyes are pretty, uh, eye-catching.
