Silent Laughter

From IMDB’s News Section -

Woo, and may I say, Hoo!

You neglected to mention that they eyeing theatrical runs for this acquisition (presumably parts, not in its entirety), not just a commercial release on video/DVD.

There was a recent airing of one of Lloyd’s films on Turner (I think). It was the one where he’s climbing up the side of the building to reach his love interest. Very interesting commentary about how that was filmed. Lloyd was never in any danger, but the camera angles make it look like he’s hanging out over the abyss. But what an athlete, nonetheless.

That would be Safety Last, and he wasn’t climbing to reach his love interest, but because the Human Fly he hired for a publicity stunt is incapacitated, so Harold has to do it himself.

Turner actually had quite a run of Lloyd’s films in the last year or so. Managed to tape most of them, but still haven’t caught up yet…

I really hope we get the theatrical releases here in Houston. My 12-year-old brother enjoys silent movies, and anytime a kid that age doesn’t seem movies made pre-1995 to be old and worthless, you have to take advantage of that. We’ll definitely be there.

Deem, not seem. My typing skills are fading…
