Harold Lloyd fans rejoice

I know there’s a lot of fans of old school Hollywood movies. so if you like Harold Lloyd, check out Turner Classic Movies this Sunday for a full day of Lloyd’s classics.

I read a story today about how he would not allow his movies to be seen on TV. His estate has had a change of heart. I’ve can’t recall seeing any of his movies other than that scene where he’s hanging from the clock, so I’m gonna check it out.

:frowning:

I don’t get TCM. I wish they’d release a boxed DVD set of his like they did of Buster Keaton. Oh well, enjoy!

I love Harold Lloyd–but I’ve already seen all the ones TCM is showing. If you’ve not, though, grab them! I’'m also a huge Buster fan, though Charlie Chaplin rolls right off my knife.

The honey of 'em all, though, was Max Linder, who was cute, sexy, and funny–long before Chaplin, Keaton or Lloyd had ever seen a movie camera.

I love Harold Lloyd. They showed some of his movies last Sunday. Though I already had them on tape, I watched for a while.

I really enjoy how good some of his films still look. It’s my understanding that at some point he paid to have them restored, which is why we have such good copies.

Unfortunately, I don’t currently get TMC where I am. Why couldn’t you have announced this when I did? Now all I’ve got is pounds and pounds of tapes of tough guys bleeding in the snow, with crying women explaing, “Yeah, that’s Johnny. He used to be a bigshot, mister.”

Not this Sunday–every Sunday in April. Virtually his entire feature filmography. Last week’s collection (including The Freshman and The Kid Brother) was priceless, and it looks like there are very few repeaters from one Sunday to the next. Collect them all!

Wow! I haven’t seen any Harold Lloyd films in ages! And there’s a Buster Keaton box set?? JOY!

TCM is good to me…
