The spouse and I got (well, more like adopted, given the buying experience at the local Apple Store ) new iPhone 4Ses on Friday, and on Saturday he found a case he liked for his–it looks like the cheesiest of cheap 1970s cassette tapes, complete with label.
So now he wants to do it up like one of those stereotypical high schoolers’ cassettes from the '70s, so he’s looking for the name of an album to put on it. Here are his criteria:
It has to be no older than mid to late 60s, though he’d prefer the 70s since that’s when he was a kid.
It has to be an album that was reasonably popular, so people will recognize it. No obscure bands.
The title of the album has to connect somehow with the fact that it’s covering an iPhone–so anything about communication, talking, electronics, telephones, etc. All I could come up with off the top of my head were songs, not albums: “Communication Breakdown” by Led Zeppelin and “Telephone Line” by ELO. But he wants an album.
Any ideas? I told him I’d toss it out to the wisdom of the Dope to see what you guys come up with. Thanks in advance!
I have that phone cover and I love it! But every time I write something on it, the writing rubs off. I have tried permanent marker and even dry erase marker. If you can get something to work, please let me know what you used.
Thanks for the suggestions! I passed them all along to him, as well as perusing the list that **DonLogan **posted and suggesting some more. He finally decided that none of the albums really fit what he was looking for, so he decided to go with three singles: “Call Me” by Blondie, “Hello Goodbye” by the Beatles, and “Rikki Don’t Lose That Number” by Steely Dan.
He used a thin Sharpie–he only did the writing yesterday, so no idea yet if it’ll stay put. If it does I’ll report back, NotherYinzer.
