I can’t be the only one who plays this.
I want farmland but I can’t seem to get any. I’ve spent 20 years destroying all the industries trying to grow in my 8X8 lot of low industrial and all I’ve got to show for it are some dust lots.
Anybody have any tips?
Not in particular, I was so good at 2000 that I couldn’t stand starting the learning curve over.
However, you should find everything you want to know at www.gamefaqs.com (also pretty much every other game made).
I think farmland has to be super-far away from any developed area, and it has to be a certain size as well.
So what I’m saying is, make it bigger and further away from town.
I’ve got the light industry on the other side of the river from the rest of the city. Bigger than 8x8? That’s pretty big.
That’s a gigantic site Silentgoldfish. I’m not quite sure where I can find the information I need.
It’s been a while since I played SC3K, but I recall that you need to zone huge (yes, bigger than 8x8) light industrial lots, far, far away from pollution. You’ll need to keep the whole area pristine or else the area will rapidly degenerate into dirty industry.
If your system can handle it, why not upgrade to SimCity 4? You can explicitly zone for agricultural areas. I’ve created whole cities that are nothing but farmland with just a tiny village in the middle. Very bucolic.
