Yeah, I was annoyed about the city size pre-launch, then I didn’t care for quite a while because everything else is just so much fun… but now I’m bumping up against major space issues. Particularly with the various hills in my little area, I see my population eventually being capped at a number that would have been, like, a starter city in any previous SimCity.
I’m definitely ready to start a new city. Anyone want to start up a small 3-city region with me?
Kyriopolis has plenty of space compared to Terminus Wetlands. I was going to plop an Expo Center, but still haven’t because (a) the thing is expensive and (b) it’s gigantic. If I build it, I won’t have room for much of anything else. And I seriously need more Sims to work at my understaffed workplaces.
I’m trying to encourage the Sims to build vertical. But after some initial success, my effort has stalled due to them not being able to find shopping, even though a mini-mall is right across the street from their home.
I was able to log in soon after I posted that I wasn’t, after rebooting my computer (that may have been a coincidence). Having a bit of a budget problem for the first time - I think I have too many streetcars. I turned of Maxisman for now; he’s just a money sink.
I would love to demolish and start over. I didn’t check the wind map before I started building and now my residential is downwind of my industry and constantly complaining about germs. I did reconstruct one street last night and nearly bankrupted myself in the process - the buildings that came down with the road apparently housed about 1/5 of my citizens and I had to shut down a school and garbage collection while the population regenerated (and Maxis Man; screw that guy).
I’ve opened a new private region using Reflection Atoll (7 city plots & one great work). Anyone want an invite to Slugsworth?
The Gambling Commission of Ceciltopia is pleased to announce the establishment of their new headquarters in Terminus Wetlands. With its many fine gambling halls, the city is a perfect venue for the Gambling Commission. “We are pleased to welcome the commission to our fair city,” said Mayor Terminus Est, adding, “This coincides with our plans to establish a sleek new casino on the waterfront.”
Which server is that on? For the life of me, I can’t ever get on Northeast 2.
Plainville might be hosed. I can’t get into it and when I hover over it on the region screen is says “population 0.”
I did start a new city in a new region I started called “Arcadia” if anyone wants to join me there (same server).
Moss Yell hit by series of freak earthquakes!
I did about as much as I could with the way I had it laid out so I leveled it.
Maybe I should have tried a server other than North East 2.
Podunkton Tech scientists and engineers have completed research on the technology required to build a Solar Farm Great Works project. It takes a lot of materials … Any interest in building this thing?
About what’s the population people are getting?
I’m holding at ~17K. I can’t figure out how to get my happiness up. My schools/hospitals aren’t full and I have parks everywhere.
Moss Yell was up to ~30K but I started having water & budget trouble.
Podunkton’s at around 130k … I think the highest population city in Ceciltopia is something like 180k.
You asked and we answered. Our report on the state of the region now includes a census.

Thanks to diligent work at our region’s fine universities (mostly Podunkton Tech, I believe), three out of the four Great Works have been unlocked. None been started yet, probably due to the staggering startup cost involved.
It displayed as being populated when I did my survey this morning. I didn’t try to visit it, though.
Skammer, Plainville loaded for me just now so it looks like your city’s recovered.
Okay, I’m going to church this morning but I’ll try to get back into Plainville tonight. Too bad, my new city of Bear River in the (otherwise empty) region of Arcadia is doing quite well.
I would love an invite! It’s jenniferrobot
I invited you into Ceciltopia. You can snag the last region. If you didn’t get the invitation, I can send it again.
