We have everything the traveler wants and needs for a weekend beachfront getaway: pristine beaches, stunning views, [del]world-class[/del][del]high-quality[/del][del]marginally acceptable[/del]cozy and rustic accommodations, a homeless problem we’re completely on top of, we promise, and splendid weather. Did I mention pristine beaches?
Come for the beaches. Stay for the food. Step over the homeless.
I think your sewage problem was my fault. One of the services I turned off was the outflow pipe. To prevent another Terminus Taint, I shipped my shit over the border to every other town in Slugsworth. I’ve now turned it back on, though it’s already at capacity and I’ll probably have to build a treatment plant soon. Who knew drilling for oil produced so much poo?
Today the mayor of Bravtswana cut the ribbon on their latest attraction: the world’s largest traffic jam.
“THIS IS A REALLY GREAT DAY FOR BRAVTSWANA!” shouted Mr. Bravo over the long stretch of cars, moving vans, and freight trucks all trying to enter the city. “WE THOUGHT ABOUT INSTALLING A FERRY BUT WHY DEPRIVE THE GOOD CITIZENS OF SLUGSWORTH THIS BEAUTIFUL SI-”
Mr. Bravo was then hit by a truck. His son, Johnny Bravo, will be sworn into office immediately following the funeral.
Bravtswana: Come for the traffic jam, stay because good luck driving home.
Mr. Mayor - I don’t remember which of the four SimCity threads posted this advice, but if you avoid having a big intersection right at the entrance to your city it will relieve a lot of the traffic problems at that choke point. I’ve only done limited testing, but in Creosote, incoming traffic must travel a block into the city before they hit the first intersection and traffic is not quite as backed up as in some of my other cities.
We at Petrol Terminus appreciate you sending us your buses. Really we do. They have done much to alleviate traffic situation in our town. But do you really have to send all your buses over? The sheer number of Bravtswanan buses here is creating their own traffic problem. Don’t you need to keep some of them to service your own town? We have buses of our own. Plus your commuters can now use our new train station.
We would appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
Thank you so much for your inquiry regarding the Bravtswana Regional Transit System. BRTS is dedicated to bringing reliable, affordable, environmentally friendly municipal transportation to every citizen of Bravtswana, and currently serves over 10,000 satisfied customers!
The EB White Memorial Bus Terminal was constructed last quarter, funded entirely by a voter-approved half-cent tax on the sale of all soda within Bravtswana city limits. The buses housed at the EBWMBT not only service our fair city, but travel throughout Slugsworth as well, allowing many more citizens to experience everything Bravtswana has to offer, like our exciting casinos, beautiful parks, and drinkable tap water!
Please find enclosed a full-color brochure highlighting everything that BRTS is doing for you, the dedicated and hard-working Bravtswanan citizen. Remember - you’re our customer AND our boss.
Sincerely,
Geoffrey P. Munksworth
Chairman, Bravtswana Regional Transit System
I had to shut down my gambling houses because they inexplicably began losing money despite my growing population size AND visitor size. Then I built an airport because my sims kept nagging me for one, immediately followed by a message that my city’s attraction rating can’t support an airport.
That’s because your gamblers are all coming over to Petrol Terminus. They must be attracted to the gas flares coming from my oil wells. Thanks for busing them all over here, by the way.
I didn’t play last night because the game wouldn’t launch. Rebooted my computer to no avail. Rummaged online, found some advice in the forums that said to uninstall and reinstall. Earned the wrath of my beloved when reinstalling triggered the game to download again while he was raiding in WoW, maxing out our shonky internet connection. Finally launched successfully only for the game to start downloading all the updates since it was released. Yeah, why would you update the main install file to include those?
Any chance I (“jenniferrobot”) can get an invite to Slugworth? I never made it to Ceciltopia, as I was entranced by my single-player cities. Now I think I’m ready for the big time.
How the heck do you find a region on a server? I think I have an invite to Ceciltopia, but it doesn’t show up in the ‘join game’ screen (maybe because it’s full?) I can see Terminus Est online, but regions only seem to come up in date order, and very slowly at that.
