Jeez that’s a long time away. Oh well. Hey everybody… I reenlisted!* Six more years of service to my country. And more than likely ten more after that. Just thought you’d like to know.
[sub]*And got a pretty phat paycheck for it too.[/sub]
SrA, USAF, AFMC, yes, no, only on thursdays when it’s raining.
Thanks all.
AD, I’ll make Staff soon. I unfortunately wasn’t a participant in the great SSgt giveaway last year… I was out of cycle to test. So when you headed to the SNCOA?
2006 DEC 31 with at least 4 active and 4 years reserve after that Of course, I am still just a midshipman in ROTC, in a couple of years, all of you will have to salute me.
Congratulations, Simetra! My brown one says 2005Jun10, but I’m trading that one in for a spiffy green one this summer, and I don’t expect that one to expire for a good long time.
My old ID card said “Indefinite,” but this new thing says 2004DEC17.
I just signed for a bonus, so I’m locked in for another five years. The earliest I’ll be able to get out is around year 13, so I’m pretty much a lifer also.
DreadCthulhu, I was NROTC, and AFAIK there was no requirement for me to serve in the reserves if I had gotten out last year. If you serve eight years AD and get out, does your 4-year reserve commitment still stand?
flyboy88: There’s something called the MSO (Military Service Obligation). Back when I first enlisted, that was six years. Nowadays, it’s eight years. So, if you serve eight years Active Duty, you’ve fulfilled your MSO. & in case anyone’s wondering, if you had entered the military when the MSO was six years and were still in when it went to eight years, your MSO remained six years.
