Remember him from Manimal? I had such a huge crush on him back in the day. He lost his battle with cancer at age 58, with wife Susan George by his side.
I’ll miss him.
I saw his death notice on the BBC last night; I knew it was coming, as they announced about a year ago he’d been ill from cancer.
I recall being quite thrilled when he showed up on Casualty; I’ve liked him since I was small and saw him on I, Claudius and especially in Death on the Nile back in the '70s. My real regret is I had a chance to see him in the West End quite recently when he did his Sound of Music stint, but was unable to work in into my schedule.

I read an interview with him shortly after he went public with his illness, and apparently he was still working on Casualty while taking cancer treatments; he remarked that it was quite strange to have real life doctors saying to him what he’d been saying as a character on a show!
Pity he went so soon.
I thought he was hella-hot back in the 80s when he was on Falcon Crest. When I first saw Jason Isaacs I thought it was him- to me they resemble each other (MacCorkindale-Isaacs).
I had a big crush on him when he was on Counterstrike in the early '90s – he had a great voice and great presence. What a shame.
That is where I knew the name from… RIP.
