I enjoy making movie theater popcorn at home. There’s one ‘secret’ ingredient you won’t find at the grocery store and that’s Flavacol. It’s the special seasoning salt that movie theaters and carnivals have used the past 60+ years. Make a batch of popcorn at home and you’ll instantly recognize the familiar taste. I

We got a gift box of popcorn, and it came with a small shaker- like 2oz of that stuff, and it has lasted years. We sprinkle it on instead of salt.

They’re explicitly labeled crumpets, though I don’t know how authentic they are. And — my bad — they’re made in the US in the British style, not actually imported.

Thanks for the patient vectors. I did find those at my local TJ’s. $2.99 for 6, so $0.50 each. Significantly cheaper than grocery store EMs, but about the same price as TJ’s EMs.

The taste test went well too. AFAIK crumpets are supposed to be sort of soft and spongy, more akin to a thick pancake than to the toothsome nature of EMs. These are certainly that. And very absorbent of butter.

If @Ulfreida lives near a TJ’s that might be her solution. I’m not remembering where she lives now versus previously.
