Simple list - is there an app for that?

That looks close to what I’m looking for - I’ll play around with it tonight after work.

Thanks very much for the HELPFUL suggestion!

Reply and fubbleskag thanks as well. I’ll poke around on them tonight as well.

Just tap the reminder itself (not the check box) and then hit delete.

Yep, that works. To delete several, hit the ‘Edit’ button and then delete your merry way down the list.

sorry..
( Really. I was trying for a little humor. I blew it, I guess. So… no more negative vibes…)

We now return you to your locally broadcasted thread

That’s still three taps - tap the reminder, which takes you to the “Details” screen; tap “delete” which brings up an “are you sure?” box, and then a third tap to finally delete it.

I’m lazy and like instant gratification. I want to tap an entry and see it go away right away, just like the deletion function used to work on my old Palm - tap the box, the Palm drew a line through the entry, and then the entry disappeared.

Noodling around the web brought be to a free app called Simplenote, recommended as a replacement for the defualt-included notes app. Maybe that’s more what you want?

If you’re willing to spend a couple of bucks, you might like Clear. I don’t use it myself (having fallen for one of the nested recurring almost-makes-your-coffee list apps), but it looks like it might be just what you’re looking for.

Screen shots don’t look especially impressive, but a video (Clear is a New List App for iPhone You Have to See) demo makes it look simple, easy to use, and efficient.

I like Catch. No option for checking off right now, but I can create a list on the website and access it from my phone or vice versa. I can also capture pics and voice notes for later review.

This is what I use and can highly recommend it. It’s only $1.99 now.
