I remember a rather amusing scene from Top Gear a few series back, but can’t remember which Series/Episode or what the challenge was.
Basically the Top Gear presenters are on some “foreign” challenge (in continental Europe, IIRC), and while staying overnight at a hotel in a so-so area have parked their vehicles in the “super secure” hotel parking lot.
Jeremery Clarkson notes this, and then starts easily climbing over the parking lot chain-link security fence while prattling on about how the hotel told him the parking lot was so incredibly secure. Possibly Richard Hammond was there, chuckling in the background.
Not an earth shattering scene, but I found it rather amusing the way it was played, and now it bugs me that I can’t remember the challenge they were on.
I thought it was either the Romanian or Albanian challenge, but rewatching those I did not see anything like that scene. Ditto for at least 2 of the Italian Challenges. Anyone remember it?
It’s definitely not the Albanian one. I remember that scene, too, and I think they were featuring the parking conditions because they had 3 super cars that they were taking across Europe. Can’t remember the exact deal but I think that was the one where they were judging cars on their long distance capabilities. I remember James picked something that looked nice but was completely uncomfortable, had no air conditioning, and only one tiny window.
Or maybe I’m blending a couple episodes together…
But I’m sure they all had really nice, expensive cars in the episode you’re talking about. (As opposed to Albania, where Jeremy was driving the “Bentley.”)
I see that the question has been answered, but I stubbornly feel the need to add what I felt was the funniest bit of that scene. On top of May’s race car being uncomfortable and hot, it didn’t have any locks on the doors and had a simple push-button starter.
