Other than Homer breaking the head off the chocolate Easter Bunny and going after the guy in the bunny suit, there really wasn’t anything to make me laugh out loud about this episode. I don’t get the whole business with Milhouse speaking Italian (though his middle name being the same as Il Duce’s was kind of funny).
GAH! Wrong forum! Would a passing mod be so kind as to kick this into the right one? Thanks!
They really struggled to end a couple of scenes. That’s a theme this season, I guess. “Shit, we need a random line here! Anybody got one?” I thought this one was pretty good overall, though.
Moving to Cafe Society.
WTF happened to the Lisa subplot? Did she ever get to Italy? They kinda left that hanging. Granted, the story didn’t suck as bad as I thought it would, but I thought having the Cherry Red Tomatoes go criminal was kinda off. Well, way off. They had an intriguing plotline going there, they shoulda done a better job of milking it for laughs and whatnot.
Oh yeah… That’s not so good.
The Mayor’s office buttons…this could become a good gag, just as good as the Mr. Burn’s office button gag.
I was disappointed with the plan to rob Burns’ “MANSON.” What’s with the lousy spelling?
“Burns’s mansion! That’s where Mr. Burns lives!”
According to The Simpsons Archive web site, in the next new episode (scheduled to air December 11th and titled “The Italian Bob”), the whole family will be going to Italy where they encounter Sideshow Bob. Whether this is a deliberate effort to carry over a plot-line from the November 27th show or just a coincidence in the two episodes, we’ll find out then.
“Idiota!” and chasing Milhouse with the branch made my father chuckle, so I guess it wasn’t a complete loss.
It was pretty predictable that the tomatoes would be a cult or a gang or something. Burns getting all cutesy with the attack dog was kinda funny, I thought, but his letting the burglars go and not counting the eggs seemed forced.

I enjoyed that the writers ackowledged they were ripping off a previous episode of their own show. This isn’t the first time Marge has let her desire for friendship lead her down a road of crime.
Remember the episode where Marge and her neighbor do the Thelma and Louise thing?
Well, this episode, they even included a throw back line to friends “sticking together.”
That’s what good waffles do…
I laughed out loud at little Wiggum and the easter basket with no bottom. Up until Bart pointed it out to him. It was funnier with him not knowing.
