Simpsons 11/6 - Treehouse of Horror XVI

Veronica Mars got moved to Sundays? I can now watch Lost and VM? Please say it’s true!

Except that the World Series was not only over before Halloween, I don’t think there was any way that the World Series as scheduled could have run as late as the Sunday before Halloween. Fox schedules ToH for November because of sweeps.

If the World Series had gone seven games, it would have ended on October 30.

Not exactly. A lot of the UPN affiliates are rerunning the week’s VM episodes sometime during the weekend. For instance, my channel reairs it on Sundays at 7pm. I believe it’s purely a local decision as to whether they do or not, so I don’t know if it’s done in your area, but check your local listings.

And I think that Game 7 would have taken place last Sunday if it had happened, but I might be wrong about that.

I liked all three segments, although the “Bartificial Intellegence” would have been better if they had done it last year. The “Hunt the most dangerous game–man!” cliche is one of my favorite horay saws from 70’s television. And come on! “Apu-D2” is funny!

I thought it was the best one in years. How about Lenny’s vision of heaven?

I also thought this THoH was above average. And so, BoBT, I think it’s too early to say that this is or is not a minority opinion.

What were all the Carls saying in that? I couldn’t quite understand them.

It’s considerably older than that.

I thought it was about par for what they had been showing lately.

I thought the funniest part was:

Comic Book Guy: Five minutes of running? Just shoot me now!

About the only part I liked was the very beginning with K & K giving a poke to the World Series scheduling pre-empting their usual time.

The rest was meh, meh, m-e-h, meh.

There’s a 2001 made-for-TV movie called Halloweentown II that pops up on the Disney channel that has an “everyone turns into their costume at midnight” plot point.

Or one could just read the original story. It’s quite good, and not very long at all.

Something about Lenny’s not wanting to be late for work at the plant. Lenny and Carl are so my favorite set of platonic non-gay boyfriends!

I remember seeing a cartoon as a kid that used a similar idea at the end. I can’t for the life me of remember what it was, but it was a halloween show as well.

The “Greatest Game” segment got me thinking about how awesome a LOST-esque series using that premise would be.

Did anyone else hear the slightly out of place talking during the last bit? Where Bug Spray Willy is chasing around Oberon Fairy Marvin? A guy’s voice cuts in and says “Willy is dressed as a giant can of…” and then gets cut off. What was that all about?
Oh and Lenny and Carl are so gay :stuck_out_tongue: Even Marge mentions it in the episode where they did the whole gay marriage thing.

Must have been a glitch with your local station- I didn’t hear anything. The SAP feed for a number of television shows (including The Simpsons) has Descriptive Video Service, in which the show is narrated for the benefit of blind viewers. This track must have replaced the standard stereo audio track for a moment.

I’ve always felt that they should subtitle the descriptions. For people who are blind and deaf.

I enjoyed the episode. No big laughs, but a lot of amusing moments.

It was okay, but it’s nowhere near as good as some of the early ones.
