Simpsons character to come out of closet - any guesses?

Are you sure it was 8 when you turned on the TV? I get KTTV as well, and last night was King of the Hill—Malcolm—Simpsons SSM—Simpsons cooking contest—Family Guy—King of the Hill again.

Hmm. Online TV schedules also say that the episode I watched was at 8:30. I’m forced to admit the possibility that I’m simply going mad.

Carry on, then. I’ll be over here, sputtering non sequiturs and believing I’m Napoleon. Millennium hand and shrimp!

Actually, it was referenced in a later episode, “Cape Feare”. At Bob’s parole hearing, Selma testifies against him, citing their explosive honeymoon. Bob’s lawyer asks “How many people in this court are thinking of killing her right now?” A number of hands, including Patty’s, go up. Patty’s line about the toilet seat is her explanation to a surprised onlooker.

One funny semi-inside-joke not yet mentioned was Lisa commenting as the family is dressed up, “Why are we dressed as Sunday Best Simpsons?” This is a reference to the line of action figures made by Playmates which featured a number of variants of the family in different clothes, including their church clothes, which were marketed as Sunday Best Homer, Sunday Best Bart, etc.

Regarding which one is Patty and which one is Selma: regarding the earring shapes, since they look so similar, Selma is actually given S-shaped earrings in episodes that revolve around her. But I’ve used the SelMa has M-shaped hair method myself ever since I figured it out.

Gay-o! Come stay-o!

Either this is a whoosh or you’re misreading the article. The words are “Gear” and “Golf.” Both with a G.

The NY Times had two articles about the episode! None of which gave away the ‘shock’ ending.

No, I think somebody got the listings wrong. The L.A. Times listed Fox 11 as:

8:00 Same Sex marriage
8:30 Arrested Development
9:00 Family Guy
9:30 Bart finds Homer’s “Playdude” magazines (same ep as cooking contest?)

But I remember the Simpsons’ episodes being reversed, so the S.S.M. ep was at 9:30.

I recorded the whole block.

7:00 KOTH
7:30 Malcolm
8:00 Simpsons SSM
8:30 Simpsons cooking
9:00 Family Guy
9:30 KOTH

I mean, I recorded it from KTTV.
