An elephant. The ears are back, and they usually don’t detail them, because it’s a cartoon, but sometimes they are shown. Probably modeled after one from a catoonist’s youth.

Shouldn’t that be a “D’oh! - D’oh!” ? Or, to be grammatically correct, an “annoyed grunt! - annoyed grunt!”.
Anyway, I agree with Wanderlust - I’ve always assumed it was an elephant. Look forward to seeing if there is anything concrete about it. It would make a good trivia question.
i always thought of the spy vs spy things whenever i see it. but i’m pretty sure i’m not right…
During the snake bashing episode they changed it to a snake head.
Their always doing crap like that…like having Ralph peeing in a corner in the background, or the moon as a bowling ball.
I think it’s the chicken head that woman bought in McDonalds.
