Simpson's Location

On the episode, “Simpsons: Behind The Laughter”. ((The one that parodied VH1’s “Behind the Music”. The first time they ran the episode they talk about the Simpsons being a quiet little Kentucky family.

Then later, when that episode re-ran. They had the same line, but Kentucky was changed to Missouri.

TMK, in both states, there is a Springfield, with a Shelbyville somewhere close by.

Oh well, some things we just weren’t meant to know.

Sorry neptune… Maybe I should read the whole thread sometime and not just skim.

That’s OK. I’ve done that a few times.

Matt Groening is from Springfield, Oregon, a suburb of Eugene.

Not to mention one of the tallest mountains in the country. I forget its name, but Homer climbed it in the episode where he ate energy bars made from apple cores. For some reason, this mountain had never been seen before and has not been seen since.

It also snows a lot in Springfield (“Mr. Plow”).

In the episode where Lisa goes to Washington (with the family) for writing a patriotic essay, they pan the camera across a map showing where all the other finalists come from. Every other winner is from a real state. But when the camera zooms in on Springfield, the name of its home state is conspicuously absent. We don’t even see the neighboring states.

Then there’s the one where Burns runs for governor. A campaign commercial shows Burns in front of the state flag. It resembles no real state flag and has the motto “Not just another state!”

The Murderhorn was the mountain if I remember correctly.

There is a KBBL radio station in Cabot, Arkansas. AND it is about 30 miles from Little Rock, the capital.

!!!

I’m in trouble now
