Did anyone pin point what state that was on the opening sequence?
Is Matt screwing with us, or what? 
Looked Illinois-ish to me.
Yeah, it looked somewhat midwestern, but in order to dodge the whole “where is Springfield?” answer, they could simply say that that was an “alternate universe” Springfield that resides deep inside the atoms of the real Homer Simpson, who we saw at the end of the opening sequence, and in a still-as-yet-undetermined state. But that’s the opinion I came up with right after I saw that opening.
Of course, the film that this was based on, Powers of Ten (see website http://www.powersoften.com/[sup]*[/sup]), is centered on a park next to Lake Michigan (near Soldier Field), so it makes sense to put this one there too.
