Sims 3 question or Get outta my house!

I’ve got a Sim whose lifetime wish was to be surrounded by family. She (and her husband, the star athlete) raised 5 perfect children. Even though they love their children, they were looking forward to the day that they could retire so she could grow her garden and he could fish all day long.

Their oldest daughter met and married a very charming athlete. They enjoy each other’s company so much they got the same job. She writes and paints at home and he works out and chats on the phone when they are at home. They also woo hoo a lot because their lifetime happiness depends on it.

The only problem? The daughter never left the original house. When she got married, she went on the internet and found a place to live. I moved the happy couple out, set up shop and saved. When I went back to her “childhood home”-- she was still there! It was as if the previous house didn’t save all that playing I did to get her married and out of there, so she and her husband aren’t even boyfriend or girlfriend.

Now I just want her out of the first house. How do I do that? It’s gotta be something on saving the ‘move out’ option, no? A little help, please?

I don’t have any advice for you, other to say my brother and sister in law have the same problem. 3 grown children, all living with them, one happily engaged. They hope she moves out when she gets married, but judging from your story, I’d say it’s not a sure thing. :stuck_out_tongue:

Posts like these make it hard to resist buying The Sims again.

Just in case anyone else missed the obvious like I did-- you have to go back to the original household and kick out the unwanted Sim. Do the move thing again, it won’t let you move the sim to another household but at the bottom of the move screen is a little box that says ‘kick out’.

Just like in real life when you got a kid who won’t leave voluntarily.

I’ll tell my brother to look for the “kick out” button. Thanks!
