Sims Medieval-- Anyone have it yet?

So I finished New Beginnings and my knight struck out to start a new kingdom. I’m not really sure what to expect at this point. It appears you can’t do more than one Achievement per kingdom. I did unlock some new clothes and furniture and stuff though, so that was cool. I’m happy to have unlocked a freestyle mode, but XP doesn’t count and it seems like it erases all your progress when you switch to another Quest. My blacksmith and troubadour totally got married in freestyle mode and I’m not sure if they’ll be married still when I return to freestyle mode.

I really enjoy playing this game, but it feels… unfinished to me. I wish it were possible to renovate buildings, but all you can do is furnish and change floor and wall coverings. The camera mechanics can be frustrating and there are too many ‘‘rabbit holes’’ where your Sim just disappears. All in all, though, I do really like it. I just think it’s odd that I’ve played it for about 16 hours and I still don’t understand how it works.

This game needs to be a lot more open-ended. Why can’t I build my kingdom the way I wanna? Why can’t I go look outside the castle with a single click? Why can’t I build a dynasty of generations of the same family ruling the land?

The unlocked games are more of the same on the same map with different goals. Right now I’m doing the Do A Buttload Of Quests achievement. I think, but I’m not sure, that my other choice was Kick Butt achievement.

After completing a kingdom’s Ambition, you should be able to continue playing that kingdom as you would other Sims. Without the construction, of course.

Maxis must have heard me bitch. The new patch has an opened ended ambition where you can quest if you want-- or not. And you can control up to 4 heroes. Off to give it a whirl.
