Singer with Crushed Voice Box

I think this is the right forum for this question but I’m not too sure, so mods do what you feel needs to be done.

My question is: I remember hearing my local alternative rock (or modern rock) station play a song by a group about 2-3 years ago. The song was pretty good, but the interesting thing was that the DJ mentioned that the lead singer’s voice box was crushed. Does this ring a bell for anyone who this group or what the song could have been?

Sorry, I don’t know the answer to your qoustion.

But, Frank Zappa’s vocal cords were crushed after being pushed from stage in 1971. This caused him to have a lower voice.

I’d heard something about Bonnie Tyler having some sort of problem with her throat/voice. Her big comeback after whatever it was was “Total Eclipse of the Heart”.

Fenris

Agents of Good Roots. The singer had his voice box crushed during a sking accident. I’m pretty sure the single you want is “Smiling Up the Frown” but the cd (One By One, 1998) is very good in general. I have a feeling it was a limited print, though, since CD now doesn’t have it (I bought a promo) but it’s worth looking for.
