I spend a lot of time screaming at the TV for the show to get the fuck moving. But I’m hooked. I wish we’d taped them all before I started this.
I’m watching. I find the flashbacks to be the most interesting part of the show, at least so far. I’m pretty curious about where this is all going, and if this “limited series” is really going to wrap everything up in three (I think) more episodes.
Well, that was odd. I’m still not entirely sure what to make of this show.
I do think they should’ve picked a more obscure band to “be” Frankie’s, because I for one am familiar with Big Black Delta and it kind of pulled me out of the story when I recognized “his” song in the basement scene.
I’ve watched two episodes. The rest are sitting on the DVR. I was really interested in the first one, but less the second one, which is why I never got around to watching the rest of it. I’m pretty impressed with Jessica Biel, I will say that.
I saw it through. There was an explanation for the woman’s seemingly out-of-the blue attack, and it made sense. They could, perhaps, have told the story in fewer than eight or ten hours.
this previews of this show reminded me of the killings first season … where it was so concerned about the characters and exposing the “secrets” of the town that went nowhere …
The actual mystery could of been a murder she wrote episode …
Except … unlike … The … Killing, … this … show … wrapped … things … up … by … the … end … of … the … season.
I thought it was a bit silly (e.g. “when she punched me, it exactly matched the stab wounds on the guy!!!”), but it had its moments I suppose.
Once again I’m late to the party, having not had this available to me when it aired last year but I watched several episodes over the weekend.
It’s not what I was expecting but it’s still quite enjoyable. I knew it was going to be a mystery / police procedural but I guess, maybe because the way it was marketed, that it would be more mysterious or have a darker tone or something.
Mason is an unlikable twat. I think his character is supposed to be flawed but also sympathetic but I cannot stand him and I’m thinking it might be the actor playing him(?) Never seen him before but do not like.
The actor playing J.D. is doing a good job but I keep getting distracted trying to figure out who he reminds me of. I vacillate between a young Steven Weber Tony Goldwyn and occasionally Even Peters .
Jessica Biel is someone I can take or leave; I’ll take her in this but I sure wish to hell she didn’t have that ridiculous hairstyle.
The biggest surprise is Bill Pullman. Wow. Playing a role like no other *I’ve * seen him in. For that matter, the character himself is fascinating. His masochism seems such a random trait and I wonder if at some point it will tie in to anything else in the story.
Speaking of that part, I saw the name “Abby Miller” in the credits and until just a few minutes ago I thought the dom girlfriend was the the lady from *Dance Moms * :smack:
For anyone who enjoyed it and isn’t aware, it looks like there is a second season coming up.
I completely forgot that I watched this show, let alone that I posted to this thread. So clearly it didn’t have much of a lasting impact on me.
