Last I heard (fairly recently) he was still living in the Seattle area and occassionally playing gigs in small venues … Supposedly he is doing a collaborative thing now with the dudes from that band Presidents of the United States of America, a rock/rap hybrid (hardly original nowadays, though he was one of the pioneers of the form when he covered “Iron Man”).
Much love, and mad props, and peace-in-the-Middle-East to one of the very brightest and wittiest characters of the rap world.

Anyone who has pictures of the Seattle landmark ‘Dick’s Burgers’ on his CD covers deserves some local respect. Being a northwest boy, I gotta hand it to the man.

So, Sir Mix-A-Lot is keeping a low profile these days. I can’t say I blame him. Look at all of the rappers who’ve been murdered and/or jailed. That career must be somewhere on the list of “most dangerous jobs.”
