I cannot find a straight answer on the internet (probably because I’m not phrasing it right).
I have subscriptions to SiriusXM radio in 3 cars. One of them is the full deal with Howard Stern’s channels. On air, they constantly talk about the SiriusXM app with all its great content.
Do I need to pay more money in order to use this “free” app? Or is this included in the monthly radio charge?
My experience: I subscribe and wanted to add the Sirius/XM app to our Roku a couple weeks ago. But when I signed in on the Roku, I was told my subscription didn’t support access.
If you sign in online it will tell you whether or not you have streaming included. I just added streaming and “bundled” my subscriptions, I think it cost me a couple dollars more per month.
I believe it is included in the premium account which is what you have with Howard Stern, etc…
For lower level plans it is an add-on. I pay about $4/month and I can stream live or listen on demand. I also download shows so I can listen when I am not connected to WiFi.
If you look at the bottom of the page here: https://www.siriusxm.com/ All Access includes streaming.
No, you only have to have one account, although there is a limit on how many devices can access the streams simultaneously.
I’d add that I absolutely love it because I can listen to shows whenever I want… You can also fast forward, pause and rewind broadcasts.
SiriusXM is one of those services where the standard charge is pretty high but you can call to cancel and get a better deal. FWIW my most recent deal was 6 months for $29, but it was $37 after fees. That did not include streaming.
OP, since you have 3 subscriptions I think you’re in a good position to negotiate a good rate with streaming included, but YMMV.
Whenever I get my renewal notice, I call them up and threaten to cancel because it’s too expensive. They always come back with a much lower figure to keep me subscribed.
I think I got the “12 months for the price of 9” discount this year.
