MAS*H

Seinfeld
Tough one for me because I love both shows. I’m gonna go with
MAS*H
Seinfeld
MAS*H. But I will be really surprised if Seinfeld doesn’t win. It’s probably the cooler choice.
I do love ‘em both. Both series took a couple of years to find their footing IMO, and I dislike both of their’ final seasons, but on the whole these are two excellent examples of stretching the boundaries of sitcoms (in veerrry different ways).
For pure sentimentality’s sake I’m going with MAS*H. The acting, the writing, the emotion, the comedy/drama … yep, it’s awesome.
Also, Mike Farrell was my first real actor crush, so what choice have I got?
Seinfeld. I find MAS*H ghastly and I have an uncontrollable urge to flip the channel when I hear the dire theme music.
Hearing that song makes me think that I should find something more important to do. Like sleep.

III. Seinfeld

Seinfeld.
Interesting match up. Seinfeld is the anti-MASH. Seinfeld purposely kept the show ‘just funny’ which MASH was one of the pioneers of the comedy show that could be serious.
And that’s why I’m voting for
MASH

MASH. Definitely MASH. Gotta be MASH. MASH,MASH,MASH.
Did I mention MAS*H?
Seinfeld blows.
Gah, nearly an impossible choice. MAS*H made me chuckle happily for many, many years, and I developed a genuine fondness for some of the characters and actors that continues to the present. Seinfeld, on the other hand, made me laugh out loud frequently and sometimes hysterically.
When it comes right down to it, though, I don’t quote lines from MAS*H, so my vote goes to:
III. Seinfeld*
- Recognizing, of course, that the real best sitcom of all time is The Dick Van Dyke Show, which was not represented in this contest.
Seinfeld
No contest!
MAS*H
