On your own initiative or at the urging of others, if you know what I mean. . . .
My deepest sympathy.
Anyway. I know this wasn’t the intent of the OP, but I rather like the direction the thread actually took.
I can claim a Bacon of 3, having crossed paths with Susan Dey in my TV days (she was talent; I was audio; did not get to shove a lavalier mike up her blouse).
I can also claim a 4, having dated someone who dated someone who dated Stephanie Zimbalist (though not in that order).
I’m friends with Kevin and Trudie who have worked with John Moore who was in Sleep Room with Gabrielle Rose who was in Where the Truth Lies with Kevin Bacon, giving me a 4.
I have a Bacon number of two. I (literally) bumped into Tim Robbins on a film set, and apolgoized profusely for crashing into him. He was in Mystic River with Kevin Bacon.
I also said “Hello.” to Don McKellar, and on a separate occasion I said “Hi.” to the entire Egoyan Clan (all dressed in black creepily enough): Atom Egoyan, his wife Arsinee Khanjian, and their kid. They all (not the kid) worked with Kevin Bacon on Where the Truth Lies. I’ve actually seen Khanijan at my local hardware store a couple of times, they must have some digs nearby.
If I have TWO Kevin Bacon indexes of 2, does that make it 2[sup]2[/sup] or anything?
If I count the McKellar event and Egoyan and Khanijan events separately (even though they were all in one movie together), does that give me a Bacon factor of 2[sup]4[/sup]?
It occurs to me that I can also probably claim a Bacon of 2. Then-congressman Dan Glickmen was a regular visitor to our station; I even had a couple of friendly chats with him (great guy; his father was a certifiable character, but I digress). Now that Dan has Jack Valenti’s old job in Hollywood, it seems likely that he has crossed paths with Bacon; if so (or if when), I can claim Bacons of 2, 3, and 4.
(Conspiracy-minded folks who see something sinister in the fact that A knew B knew C should study this thread carefully.)
I was in the St. Francis Prep 1974 production of “Pippin”. John Turturro (who attended Delahanty HS but was in our show anyway) and I became pretty good friends for that time.
John appeared in “Do The Right Thing” with Spike Lee.
Spike Lee appeared in “School Daze” with Laurence Fishburn.
Laurence Fishburn appeared in Mystic River with Kevin Bacon.
I have a Bacon number of 3 in several ways. (Aren’t I lucky?) The first is the closest connection, though:
I was married to my former husband, who
went to high school with Tom Cruise.
Tom was in A Few Good Men with Kevin Bacon.
I met Rosie Perez while she was filming “Poof!” in Kentucky.
Rosie was in King of the Jungle (2000) with Marisa Tomei
Marisa Tomei was in Loverboy (2005) with Kevin Bacon
I wrote a script for a documentary Tommy Smothers narrated.
Tommy was in Pandemonium (1982) with Marc McClure (I)
Marc McClure (I) was in Apollo 13 (1995) with Kevin Bacon
I met Ashley Judd while she was in Kentucky filming “The Ryan Interview.”
Ashley was in Double Jeopardy (1999) with Gabrielle Rose
Gabrielle Rose was in Where the Truth Lies (2005) with Kevin Bacon
I interviewed and photographed Cheryl Ladd when she was in Kentucky filming “Bluegrass” (1988)
Cheryl was in Millennium (1989) with Maury Chaykin
Maury Chaykin was in Where the Truth Lies (2005) with Kevin Bacon
Well, technically, no. I knew his dad from neighborhood meetings (held at my parents house a lot), but I don’t think I ever met Kevin himself. Unless he was one of the bigger kids who would death spiral the nerf football at smaller kids on Van Pelt street.
Kevin Bacon
Actually, through my cousin I’m 4 away from most of Hollywood (but do they ever invite me to the cool parties? Noo.)
We should do this in a more unusual way instead of actors. For example, “How many degrees are you from the Pope?” or “How many degrees from Bill Gates?”
I haven’t been in any movies, so I can’t have a true Bacon number. But, as I’ve stated before, I have a quasi-Bacon number of 3.
1.) I’ve been onstage in two different productions (in college – 1776 and A Man of la Mancha) with Erland van Lidthe de Jeude (The big bald guy in The Warriors and Stir Crazy, except he isn’t bald. He got tired of shaving his head to play big bald geeks, so he gave it up).
2.) Erland was in The Wanderers with Karen Allen
3.) Karen Allen was in Animal House with Kevin Bacon
