Six degrees of Kevin Bacon

The Oracle says: Angelika Jager has a Bacon number of 3.

Angelika Jager was in Robot Holocaust (1987) with George (IV) Gray
George (IV) Gray was in Stargate (1994) with Christopher John Fields
Christopher John Fields was in Apollo 13 (1995) with Kevin Bacon

For those Mystery Science Theater 3000 fans out there, Angelika Jagger was the cyborg woman with the speech impediment.

The Oracle says: Pamela Paulson has a Bacon number of 3.

Pamela Paulson was in Robot Monster (1953) with Claudia Barrett
Claudia Barrett was in Happy Years, The (1950) with Robert Wagner
Robert Wagner was in Wild Things (1998) with Kevin Bacon

Pamela Paulson was the little girl in Robot Monster, It starts getting creepy at some point…

Yhe most obscure person I could think of: the starlet who died at the 1921 “Fatty” Arbuckle party in San Francisco . . .

The Oracle says: Virginia Rappe has a Bacon number of 4.

Virginia Rappe was in Foolish Virgin, The (1917) with Clara Kimball Young
Clara Kimball Young was in Dangerously Yours (1937) with Leon Ames
Leon Ames was in Testament (1983) with William Devane
William Devane was in Hollow Man, The (2000) with Kevin Bacon

Yikes!

Who are three people and what are four movies I have never hear of?

while i’m lining up in the queue of suckery, can anyone provide proof?

Edward Heeley was in In Too Deep (1999) with Stanley Tucci
Stanley Tucci was in Deconstructing Harry (1997) with Elisabeth Shue
Elisabeth Shue was in Hollow Man, The (2000) with Kevin Bacon

now suck this: my boss has a Method Man number of 2.

My six degrees of Kevin Bacon:
Kevin Bacon was in flatliners with
(1) Julia Roberts who was in Conspiracy Theory with
(2) Mel Gibson who was in Maverick with
(3) James Garner who was in dead silence with (4) Kim Coates who is friends with
(5) Clair Brewster who is
(6) my uncle.

I too, can do this in less than six. But silly me to think it was called the six degrees of Kevin Bacon for a reason.

I think the name is just a play on the old saw that you can connect any two people through at most six intermediate steps. before it got Baconocentric I used to play this with other celebrities and famous people.

Eve, love the hat, you must let me borrow it sometime. And especially for you, because I know you hate him so:

Kenneth Anger was in Jonas in the Desert (1994) with Martin Scorsese
Martin Scorsese was in The Muse (1999) with Greg Grunberg
Greg Grunberg was in The Hollow Man (2000) with Kevin Bacon

Apparently what I’ve done is six degrees ‘of seperation’.

Horrible, horrible me.

no, what you’ve done is 7 degrees of seperation.

a) 6 degrees of kevin bacon is connected via movies, only movies. if it weren’t, everyone would be within 1 or 2 degrees. hollywood people all know each other.

b) you have 7 degrees.

All of you claiming low Bacon scores . . . what, we’re supposed to just believe you.

Let’s see those three of four degrees. Whip 'em out.

Jesus bloody christmas, I said I was wrong, so why push on what exactly it was that made it wrong??

It’s just freaking annoying.

And John, this is what I was talking about:

“The game is based on the conceit of the John Guare play and movie adaptation Six Degrees of Separation. The play posits that we are all connected by six or fewer stages of circumstance or acquaintance. In other words, if I were to run into Elvis in the Grant Line Road Kroger store’s produce department, we’d hardly be to the dairy case before establishing that he was in King Creole with (1) Dolores Hart, who was in Where the Boys Are with (2) Paula Prentiss, who was in Catch 22 with (3) Richard Benjamin, who was in a remarkably brief TV series, Quark, which featured (4) the Barnstable Twins, whose grandmother, (5) Ellen Haverly, gave a pressure cooker to (6) me as a wedding present. Voila! Only six degrees separate the King and me!”

That’s it.

Good Lord!!

Rod Serling (from the Twilight Zone) Had such low Bacon numbers, that I thought I’d try blues legend and 4-time WC Handy Award winner Magic Slim (I play in his band). He has a Bacon # of 2!!! He appeared in the movie Folks with Marilyn someone, who was in flatliners with K.B. So I guess I sort of have a Bacon # of 3 too…

I stumped the oracle. Marin (not Martin)Walz could not be found. The suggestions on the proper spelling turned nothing up. WOOHOO! For the record he was the gay NYC police officer in the movie “Killer Condom”. It is a must see for all B-movie afficianados out there. It is perhaps one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Plus, you get to see the extra big shadow of his manhood (he was supposed to be hung really well). You can find a review here http://www.german-cinema.de/archive/k/kondom_d_grauens_E.html and the Troma site here http://www.troma.com/kc/.

Can anyone come up with a know actor/actress (that is actually in their db) with a KB # or more than 4? I sure as hell can’t. The Lady and I choked out all the old film stars we could think of. Johnny Weismuller, Lon Chaney, Elsa Lanchester, Peter Lorre, Julia Pastrana, Eroll Flynn, Tod Browning, and a bunch more. Nothing! We got one # 4 (I can’t remember who it was).

Has anyone gotten a 5 or 6? If so, who was it?

Sorry to burst your bubble SqrlCub, but the Internet Movie Database lists Martin Walz (not Marin Walz) with writing and directing credits for the 1996 movie “Killer Condom”.

The Oracle says: Martin Walz has a Bacon number of 3.

Martin Walz was in Boot ist voll, Das (1981 with Mathias Gnadinger
Mathias Gnadinger was in Justiz (1993) with Maximilian Schell
Maximilian Schell was in Telling Lies in America (1997) with Kevin Bacon

In this world, you must be oh-so smart, or oh-so pleasant. For years I was smart. I recommend pleasant.

Probably the only reason you couldn’t find it in the Oracle is because he has a very small role, I mean, even imdb doesn’t mention him in the cast list of Killer Condom (but he is listed as writer/director.) BTW, I though the Kevin Bacon game was only supposed to work with actors, not directors/writers, correct?

However, Udo Samel, one of the actors in Killer Condom, has a Bacon number of 3, so your friend Marin Walz has a number of 4.

Udo Samel was in Kinoerzahler, Der (1993) with Armin Mueller-Stahl
Armin Mueller-Stahl was in Peacemaker, The (1997) with Steve Altes
Steve Altes was in Hollow Man, The (2000) with Kevin Bacon

With that being said, I’m sure one could find an obscure Indian actor that can’t be linked to Kevin Bacon.

Pipped me to the post, eh, lswote? I’ll get you someday!

After much trying (Lillian Lorraine! May Irwin! Florence LaBadie!) I got a four:

Allyn King was in Fighting Blade, The (1923) with Frederick Burton
Frederick Burton was in Silver Dollar (1932) with Leon Ames
Leon Ames was in Testament (1983) with William Devane
William Devane was in Hollow Man, The (2000) with Kevin Bacon

Allyn King, by the way, was a Follies girl who, sadly, killed herself in 1930 when she couldn’t lose weight and her career suffered.
