I remember the entire song of MILTON THE MONSTER but I can’t recall any other of the characters names, but I know I loved that show when I was a wee Friar.
Join me in the song!

Six drops of essence of terror…
Five drops of sinister sauce…
When the stirring’s done, may I lick the spoon?
Of course, aha!, of course.
I used to argue with my brothers about the next line. I always thought it was, “Now for a pinch of tenderness, but I must use only a touch.” My brother said it was, “Now for a tincture of tenderness…”
Whad’ya think?
IIRC, didn’t Milton sound like Gomer Pyle?
When you think about it, Milton the Monster and Casper the Ghost were exactly the same premise.
Sorry, your brother was right.
Now for the tincture of tenderness
But I must use only a touch
For without a touch of tenderness
He might destroy ME! Whoops, too much!
The spoken intro mentions two:
On top of old Horror Hill
In a secret laboratory
Professor Weirdo and Count Kook
Were in their monstrous glory!
And after the Milton cartoon, there was always Cool McCool…
Biffy- thanks, I was trying to remember the spoken intro without googling
and it was definitely tincture but I thought when I was young that it was something else (not exactly pinch but similiar)
That’s what I figured - my brother was usually right about those kind of things.
