Six hours in the EZ-Bake oven

I love my car. Really. It runs great, it does what I need it to do and it doesn’t eat that much gas. All I have to do is keep up the maintenance and keep gas in the tank.

But it’s black. Exterior and interior. It has no air conditioning, and I live in the south. In fact, I’m moving in four weeks to a town about 200 miles away and I needed to go apartment hunting today. So I did.

I left here around 7:30, got there around 11. Not too bad. Looked at the apartment. It’s acceptable and I can afford it on a student’s wages (though I’m still hoping to get into the university apartments - because they’re cheaper). So I fill out the application, had over a couple of checks and get back on the road.

I drove and drove and drove and drove. Then I stopped at my parents house at about the halfway point. On my way back to the interstate I got a drink. Chattanooga to Atlanta, an hour and a half (if they’re not shooting radar on I-75, which they were today, so it took 2 hours).

I got here, got out of the car and realized the back of my shirt was dripping wet. Nasty sweaty. I dashed into the apartment, turned the A/C down nice and low and jumped into the shower. I feel better now.

Also, my left arm and leg are delightfully different shades from my right arm and leg.

Oh, man! I thought this was a recipe!

I feel for you Lsura.
The van I drive at work has no AC. The only relief is an ice chest full of cold water and all windows down going Mach 1.

Keep drinking fluids and keep the wind rushing thru and it will be tolerable.

I cannot give any advice about the drivers tan since I suffer from the same.

Hope your move goes well. Knoxville right? nice part of the country to me moving to.

This past week we had two days where the temperature outside climbed into the Mid 40’s (with humidity). Inside a vehicle you can image it was much worse. How bad? Well, I had to wrap a piece of paper around the ignition and key just to be able to start it, becasue I couldn’t hold the switch long enough for the car to turn over. Then, the plastic on the steering wheel felt like it was coated with liquid, due to some weird softening effect…
It was overwhelming…
