Saying that this thread should be in the Game Room is basically the same thing as saying that the Thread Games forum shouldn’t exist, because threads like this are the reason for this forum’s existence.

Thread games are basically post padding threads, I don’t think the feuds qualify for that august distinction. There is a finite end to the game, and as the subtitle of the Game Room says, " For games and sports of all sorts, including video games, board games, party games,role playing games, cards and puzzles."

Feuds are certainly under the party games and puzzles category, IMO.

As I understand it, The Game Room is for discussions about games, while Thread Games is for threads “in which the thread is the game.” Feud threads, though they may not be the same kind of “game” as other threads in the forum, do fall into the second category.

It’s been several years since Dolores ran these regularly – I wouldn’t be at all surprised to learn that a lot of the regular players from back then are no longer active on the boards.

Plus, the Thread Games forum didn’t exist back then, and so, vintage Feuds were in the Game Room forum, which I suspect gets visited by a wider cross-section of Dopers than does Thread Games.
