Dang, sorry, I’m just not really a good Pitter.
I can’t claim that I’ve read all of Skald’s recent threads, but the ones I have read have been fun, and interesting. Certainly Skald is involved in them, not putting out an OP with no follow-up. I’m another one who has enjoyed these threads, so -
How’s about we get Skald to limit to no more than 29 threads started in a week?
This Pitting is in the negative numbers, man.
I’ll tell you what really chaps my ass-- lack of rhymes. If you’re going to go to all the trouble of pointing out how much of a rhymer you are, then don’t turn around and conspicuously* not ever rhyme at all.* And yet, does this Skald ever actually go out of the way to make a rhyme? I see no evidence of this. Oh maybe there’s been one or two posts somewhere which had rhymes in them, but I’m sorry; it’s just not enough. If you want me to think of you as a rhymer, then I expect frequent rhymes. If I went around calling myself Terrifel the Ocelot Waxer, and one day someone asks me, “Hey man, I’ve got this ocelot that needs waxing; can you give me a hand?” and I’m all like, “Sorry dude, I’m not really into the whole ocelot waxing scene,” then I’d expect them to think, “Wow! What a jagoff! Where does he get off calling himself an ocelot waxer when he doesn’t ever wax ocelots?” I mean, I know it’s just a message board username, but still: why mislead people like that? We’re implicitly encouraged to anticipate rhymes, and yet no rhymes are forthcoming. You’re better than that, Skald. Don’t cruelly dash our expectations on the jagged rocks of your blatant non-rhymingness.
I guess what I’m trying to say here is: more rhymes.
[innocent]What’s a rhyme? Or, perhaps, how do you recognize “rhyming”[/innocent]
I once got pitted for not starting enough threads. True story.
[sub]well, not really, but that OP’s other issues were just as dumb[/sub]
