I enjoy the online news/culture magazine slate.com. It worked fine this morning, lots of new content. However, as of this afternoon, when I go to slate.com it takes me to the washington post web site. (link to slate.com)
Google doesn’t yield any indication of what’s going on. Anyone else have a clue? Please tell me it’s just a glitch! Or sabotage by teabaggers, perhaps?
I am getting messed up formatting at Slate, in Firefox, IE8, Safari and Chrome. It looks to me as though the CSS is not loading at all. I have occasionally had similar experiences at other newspaper web sites, but usually then I can get it to format properly with a reload or two. My guess is that the CSS file is stored on a different server, or a different drive, to the HTML, and that the former is malfunctioning.
Both links are working fine for me. Slate is owned by the Washington Post. My guess is you caught them in the midst of some sort of server maintenance.
Here’s what I’ve found:
– It happens on Firefox but not on Internet Explorer.
– I tried resetting the computer; that didn’t fix it.
– I tried removing Firefox and reinstalling it; that didn’t fix it.
